Moving Efficiently and Affordably

There's no dodging the fact that moving all of your belongings is a gigantic hassle, but we've devised a list of our favorite tips that we think will save you lots of time and money when it's time to move.

  1. Pack your boxes real snug, filling as much of the empty space as you can; It will prevent breakage and it may allow you to rent a small moving truck than you expected.
  2. Avoid moving during traffic hours to save time and gas.
  3. Keep a master list of where items were packed and stored.
  4. Label the boxes with a list of specific items that are inside. Sorting through 10 boxes labeled "office stuff" won't be very fun when you need your stapler.
  5. Color coordinate. Place colored stickers on your boxes to identify which room of your new home the items belong in.
  6. Pack as much as you can before moving day. If you're planning a mid-summer move, you shouldn't have a problem getting that winter wardrobe packed early and efficiently.
  7. Keep cleaning supplies consolidated and handy - you may need them at a moments notice.
